We take a close and careful look at the production of our menstrual cups in Germany. It makes us especially proud when this quality is recognized externally: The Merula Cup has been awarded the top rating by the German consumer magazine “ÖKO-TEST” twice.
The first “VERY GOOD” was given to the Merula Cup Strawberry (pink) in 04/2020. The second “VERY GOOD” was awarded to the Merula Cup Galaxy (violet) in 04/2022.

One Size? How can that work?
You may have already noticed that the Merula Cup has a very different shape compared to other menstrual cups. It’s not V-shaped, it’s completely round. This allows it to adapt much better to your pelvic floor! Many menstrual cups get deformed by a strong pelvic floor and then fail to provide a proper seal.
With the Merula Cup, you don’t have this problem: you can insert it compressed—the only part that needs to open is the top rim. Once it’s in place, you don’t have to think about your period for up to 8 hours.
What are the particularities of the Merula Cup?
- From weak to strong pelvic floor muscles: The Merula Cup stays where it belongs. As it can be worn in a folded up state and does not have to open completely, even strong pelvic floor muscles do not make it lose its shape.
Merula Cup „one size“
- The Merula Cup “one size” has a very large capacity (up to 38 ml) with a diameter range of 40 mm to 46 mm. It adapts perfectly to your body, an ideal companion for both light and heavy flow.
- Thanks to its round shape, the Merula Cup has an impressive capacity despite its low height of 39 mm, roughly equivalent to two of the largest tampons. This makes it suitable even for women with a low-lying cervix. If your cervix sits higher, the Merula Cup can still be used comfortably thanks to its ladder-shaped stem.
- Measuring your cervix height beforehand is unnecessary with the Merula Cup. Just try it out and decide which stem length feels most comfortable. If needed, you can easily trim the soft ladder-shaped stem with nail scissors.
Merula Cup XL
- The Merula Cup XL has a very large capacity (up to 50 ml) with a diameter of 46 mm, an ideal companion for very heavy flow.
- Despite its height of only 50 mm, the Merula Cup XL offers a maximum capacity roughly equivalent to two average-sized menstrual cups or about 2.5 of the largest tampons. This makes it suitable for women with a medium to high cervix. Its two-pronged ladder stem allows it to be perfectly adjusted to your personal needs.
- The Merula Cup XL is suitable for a medium to high cervix. If your cervix sits very low or you find your vaginal canal particularly “narrow,” the Merula Cup XL may be too large. In that case, we recommend the Merula Cup “one size” with a 38 ml capacity.
